Principal's Message

Dr. Fine

Good Day Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year.  We had a wonderful summer filled with academic and enrichment opportunities.  Highlights included but are not limited to our August graduation, Broadway in the Park program, Met game, Community lunch, collaborative reading/film, literacy support, swimming events, hikes, and our theme of, Peace and Success.
These experiences will continue as we plan additional field- trips, literacy experiences, positive activities, graduation pathways, internships, engaging courses, STEM programs, and expansion of our performing arts program.  Our students and staff have been discussing and planning our professional learning communities with respect to individualized accommodations for all learners.  It is paramount we focus on the whole child, both emotionally and academically. We are proud of our successes to date and exciting for our forward progress.  This year’s theme will be focused on our, Health and Happiness.  Carol Dweck’s discusses a “growth mindset,” which allows for hope and solutions to drive discussions.

We have embarked on various building-beautification projects ranging from art- work throughout as well as the improvements in building #2. This program, now called, Success Academy will have freshly painted walls, new LED lighting, 21st century technology in all classrooms, separate eating areas, serenity rooms, and a student lounge.  This work will continue into the fall and we are excited to have our student’s involved in these wonderful improvements.

In addition, we will launch the Clark Café, an opportunity for students to design and run a daily café, which will prepare and serve food to our students and/or staff.  Also, we have created School- Based Enterprise courses with respect to clerical services, coding, and engineering opportunities for our students.  We value the home/school partnership/relationship.  If you have any questions please reach out to us at your leisure via email and/or phone.

Below are some important dates to remember (calendar on the back as well).  Thank you for what you do with respect to our partnership and focus.  The Clark family is wishing you a positive, successful, and joyous school year.
