Clk EDUThe academic program at Kenneth Clark Academy (KCA) prepares students for a Regents Diploma, or a local diploma with an opportunity to achieve an additional career development credential through exposure to the CDOS Curriculum. The New York State Learning Standards in the seven content areas guide the KCA curriculum. As a result, students are prepared to successfully pass the Regents examination or the Regents Competency Tests (RCTs). Academic Intervention Services (AIS) are offered to improve reading and math skills as well as a means of providing needed preparation for NYS Regents and/or RCT examinations. Regents examination and RCT preparation classes are also offered after school. All classes across curriculum areas have eight students, one teacher and one teacher assistant (8:1:1).

KCA is committed to preparing students for post-secondary placements that include college, vocational training, armed services, and/or employment. A variety of vocational training opportunities are available at KCA including a comprehensive driver education program. Clk Library

Students who will earn either a Local Diploma or an IEP Diploma may participate in the Academic and Career Endeavors/Hands-on-Program (ACE/HOP). The ACE/HOP curriculum focuses on the learning and application of the New York State Learning Standards across the seven content areas. Additionally, the ACE/HOP provides career exploration in technology, cosmetology, and business. Students spend time in the community applying knowledge and skills learned in the ACE/HOP.

Career Exploration opportunities are offered to KCA students that provide observation and interaction with professionals from different career fields. These career fields include but not limited to social work, education, the Green Collar jobs, construction and the health field.
